ALFONSO: Hummm. Hummm.
(CORINNE turns around and looks at ALFONSO.)
CORINNE: Is everything alright?
ALFONSO: Shhh.
CORINNE: I'm sorry I just wanted to make sure you were ok. You look like you're in pain.
ALFONSO: Block out all outside noises. Block out all outside noises.
CORINNE: If you have a headache, I can run to my dorm and get you some advil.
ALFONSO: Miss, I do not need any advil!
CORINNE: Sorry I was just trying to help.
ALFONSO: Well you can help but shutting your mouth.
CORINNE: What is your problem?
(ALFONSO lifts up his head and faces CORRINE)
ALFONSO: If you need to know so badly, I am trying to align my chakras and open up my spirit.
(CORINNE laughs)
CORINNE: I'm sorry you're what?
ALFONSO: I am trying to clear my mind of all stresses and open up my energy to those around me.
CORINNE: Ok then have fun.
(CORINNE turns her back to ALFONSO.)
ALFONSO: You look stressed. Are you stressed Corinne? Could I get you an advil perhaps?(CORINNE jumps up from the bench and looks at ALFONSO)
CORINNE: How do you know my name?
ALFONSO: Are you stressed about your big calculus midterm Corinne?
CORINNE: How do you know about that? Who are you?
(ALFONSO jumps up from the bench)
ALFONSO: I am The Great and Powerful Alfonso and I have used my mind reading abilities to predict exactly who you are and what you are worried about. And now that I've proven my powers I will be taking over the world as the biggest psychic this earth has ever seen.
CORINNE: A psychic? You're a lunatic, that's what you are.
ALFONSO: Cursed! No one calls Alfonso a lunatic and now you are cursed! You will indeed fail your math exam!
CORINNE: Hey wait a minute. You're in my class. You sit in the desk next to mine.
ALFONSO: Alfonso doesn't know what you're talking about.
CORINNE: [sarcastic] Wow Alfonso, I'm very impressed by your skills. Please tell me more about my future.
(CORINNE laughs and walks away)
ALFONSO: You will regret disrespecting The Great and Powerful Alfonso! You will regret it!
(ALFONSO sits back on the bench and puts his head back into his hands.)
ALFONSO: Hummm. Hummm.

A fall day. The leaves are turning bronze. New Hampshire '89. I've been transported to that year just by looking at my dad's mustache. Or perhaps my mom's hair style. There's a bridge in the background hovering over a trail of dirt. Three people stand upon it. The sun tries breaking through the tall, untamed trees. My mom in a leather jacket and my dad in a grey nylon one up on a wooden balcony overlooking a picturesque Autumn scene.
It's a chilly day. Only a light jacket and a sweater is needed. They're on a family vacation. Hiking up long, dirt, trails, they stopped for a picture over the gold, orange, and green forrest. The fall air is still. They're happy for it is a joyous day in New Hampshire.

Chapter 8 Warm Up
I got tickets for Drake's concert for my birthday only for him to cancel the concert two days earlier. How dare he? Doesn't he know that I already knew what I was wearing? Doesn't he know that I'd been waiting for that show? Apparently not because he went and broke his ankle and cancelled the show!!! Though if you ask me, from the pictures he'd been posting on instagram, his ankle looked fine. I was furious until a month later when I realized what my replacement gift could be. For the same price as the Drake tickets, I could sit front row at one of the greatest shows to ever be on broadway. Wicked! I’d only seen it one other time and had wanted to see it again ever since. So on December 8th 2016, at approximately 8 pm I arrived at the Gershwin theater with my sister. I’d only been there one other time but it looked the same. The map of Oz plastered on the walls. The anticipation in the air. Like a christian walking into a church, that’s how I feel arriving at the Gershwin Theater. This will be far better than any Drake concert. I went up the escalator from the lobby to the theater, stopped at the bathroom, and headed to my seat in the very first row in the very center of the theater! I got to experience Defying Gravity and For Good and the Wizard and I all from the front row and that was far better than any concert Drake could ever put on. Does Drake have flying monkeys at his concert? Nope! Can he hold the note at the end of defying gravity while levitating above the stage? I doubt it! Wicked is far more magical than anything I’ve ever seen before. Needless to say THIS was the happiest I have EVER been and the happiest I will EVER be until the next time that I get to sit in the front row of Wicked!
