10.1
Malicious is alluring and warm. It sounds like rain trickling down my bedroom window as I'm falling asleep. Like a robin, hidden beneath the leaves of a weeping willow, chirping in the early hours of the morning. It sounds like violins and piano keys playing in the background of my favorite song. It's the ocean waves breaking on the shore of a desolate beach before the public arrives. Malicious is the sound of the light breeze that I hear the first morning of spring. A soft swoosh through my ears. But Malicious is the sound of snowflakes hitting the ground the first morning of winter. A faint tap on the concrete.

Chapter 11 Warm Up
ALFONSO: Hummm. Hummm.
(CORINNE turns around and looks at ALFONSO.)
CORINNE: Is everything alright?
ALFONSO: Shhh.
CORINNE: I'm sorry I just wanted to make sure you were ok. You look like you're in pain.
ALFONSO: Block out all outside noises. Block out all outside noises.
CORINNE: If you have a headache, I can run to my dorm and get you some advil.
ALFONSO: Miss, I do not need any advil!
CORINNE: Sorry I was just trying to help.
ALFONSO: Well you can help but shutting your mouth.
CORINNE: What is your problem?
(ALFONSO lifts up his head and faces CORRINE)
ALFONSO: If you need to know so badly, I am trying to align my chakras and open up my spirit.
(CORINNE laughs)
CORINNE: I'm sorry you're what?
ALFONSO: I am trying to clear my mind of all stresses and open up my energy to those around me.
CORINNE: Ok then have fun.
(CORINNE turns her back to ALFONSO.)
ALFONSO: You look stressed. Are you stressed Corinne? Could I get you an advil perhaps?(CORINNE jumps up from the bench and looks at ALFONSO)
CORINNE: How do you know my name?
ALFONSO: Are you stressed about your big calculus midterm Corinne?
CORINNE: How do you know about that? Who are you?
(ALFONSO jumps up from the bench)
ALFONSO: I am The Great and Powerful Alfonso and I have used my mind reading abilities to predict exactly who you are and what you are worried about. And now that I've proven my powers I will be taking over the world as the biggest psychic this earth has ever seen.
CORINNE: A psychic? You're a lunatic, that's what you are.
ALFONSO: Cursed! No one calls Alfonso a lunatic and now you are cursed! You will indeed fail your math exam!
CORINNE: Hey wait a minute. You're in my class. You sit in the desk next to mine.
ALFONSO: Alfonso doesn't know what you're talking about.
CORINNE: [sarcastic] Wow Alfonso, I'm very impressed by your skills. Please tell me more about my future.
(CORINNE laughs and walks away)
ALFONSO: You will regret disrespecting The Great and Powerful Alfonso! You will regret it!
(ALFONSO sits back on the bench and puts his head back into his hands.)
ALFONSO: Hummm. Hummm.

A fall day. The leaves are turning bronze. New Hampshire '89. I've been transported to that year just by looking at my dad's mustache. Or perhaps my mom's hair style. There's a bridge in the background hovering over a trail of dirt. Three people stand upon it. The sun tries breaking through the tall, untamed trees. My mom in a leather jacket and my dad in a grey nylon one up on a wooden balcony overlooking a picturesque Autumn scene.
It's a chilly day. Only a light jacket and a sweater is needed. They're on a family vacation. Hiking up long, dirt, trails, they stopped for a picture over the gold, orange, and green forrest. The fall air is still. They're happy for it is a joyous day in New Hampshire.

Chapter 8 Warm Up
I got tickets for Drake's concert for my birthday only for him to cancel the concert two days earlier. How dare he? Doesn't he know that I already knew what I was wearing? Doesn't he know that I'd been waiting for that show? Apparently not because he went and broke his ankle and cancelled the show!!! Though if you ask me, from the pictures he'd been posting on instagram, his ankle looked fine. I was furious until a month later when I realized what my replacement gift could be. For the same price as the Drake tickets, I could sit front row at one of the greatest shows to ever be on broadway. Wicked! I’d only seen it one other time and had wanted to see it again ever since. So on December 8th 2016, at approximately 8 pm I arrived at the Gershwin theater with my sister. I’d only been there one other time but it looked the same. The map of Oz plastered on the walls. The anticipation in the air. Like a christian walking into a church, that’s how I feel arriving at the Gershwin Theater. This will be far better than any Drake concert. I went up the escalator from the lobby to the theater, stopped at the bathroom, and headed to my seat in the very first row in the very center of the theater! I got to experience Defying Gravity and For Good and the Wizard and I all from the front row and that was far better than any concert Drake could ever put on. Does Drake have flying monkeys at his concert? Nope! Can he hold the note at the end of defying gravity while levitating above the stage? I doubt it! Wicked is far more magical than anything I’ve ever seen before. Needless to say THIS was the happiest I have EVER been and the happiest I will EVER be until the next time that I get to sit in the front row of Wicked!

"So I was at the mall today and I got this dress."
He keeps his head down. Growls quietly.
"I thought I could wear it to Kathy's daughter's wedding."
He lifts his head. His tongue hangs out of his mouth. His eyes light up.
"I tried it on. I think it looks ok. Would you like to see it on?"
He sniffs around the room, barks, and then puts his head back down.
"Well I hope it doesn't make my hips look big. You don't think my hips are too big right?"
He whimpers.
"So you don't think it'll make me look fat right?"
He puts his head back on the floor. He closes his eyes.
"I've been following all these weight loss tips I read in one of those women's health magazines but I don't think it's working. Do you think they're working?"
He rolls over. Wiggles his back around on the floor.
"Do I look slimmer to you?"
He rolls back over. Gets up. Sniffs around the floor.
"Are you listening to me?"
He looks up, tilts his head, then barks. Tongue hanging out of his mouth again.
"Anyway I have to go pick up Sarah from soccer ok bud? I'll feed you when I get home. Be a good boy while I'm gone."
He runs to the window and watches the car leave the driveway. He barks. Then into the kitchen to sniff around on the floor.

Chapter 9 Warm Up
"So here's the cave I was telling you about."
"Dr Stein, are you sure this is the cave where the crystal is?"
"Dr Calloway, are you doubting my intelligence again?"
Dr Stein creeps into the cave. Dr Calloway follows behind her.
"If you're right about this crystal, we'll be rich!"
"Isn't it so like you to only think of the money. It's a healing crystal, doctor. If we find it we can help so many people in need."
"I could finally buy that yacht I've been looking at!"
"We could cure cancer, doctor."
"I could buy a vacation home in Hawaii! Heck! I could but two vacation homes in Hawaii!"
The doctors inched further into the cave. Running their hands along the cave walls in search of the magic crystal.
"Remember doctor, if you find the crystal, be VERY careful. You can not simply yank it from the wall."
"Dr Stein?"
"Yes?"
"Do you think I'll have enough money to live on Park Avenue?"
Dr. Stein rolls her eyes.
"Hey I found it!"
Dr Calloway jumps in excitement. He rips the crystal from the cave wall.
"NOOO!"
Dr Stein lunges towards the wall but it's too late. A large rock wall closes on the entrance and the two are stuck.
"Look what you've done!"
"Doctor I am very sorry."
"I told you to be careful!"
Dr Calloway is silent.
"Now we're stuck in here for who knows how long!"
"Oh no! Oh no! no no no! This is very very bad!"
"Yes I'm well aware, Calloway."
"No, this is very very bad for me!"
"How so?"
"Dr Stein, if we don't get out of here, how am I supposed to buy that new Ferrari I saw online?"

6.2 Danger
"I need you to hand me the bullets so I can put them in the gun so we both don't DIE!"
"No way! Why don't you give me the gun?"
"Because there's no way I'm trusting a little kid to fight off a group of zombies. Now give me the bullets Joey!"
Joey looks down at the bullets lying in the palm of his hands.
"Nah."
"JOEY!"
There's a loud bang. The zombies are getting closer. They'll catch up to them soon and they'll both be dead if they don't sort out their problems.
"Joey if you give me the bullets, I'll let you stay up past your bedtime tonight. I won't tell mom and dad I promise."
"Liar! You're lying to me Carly and I'm not falling for it!"
Joey looks towards the window of the old shack they've been hiding in.
"Woah look a zombie! That's the coolest thing I've ever seen!"
While Joey's still distracted, Carly quickly snatches the bullets out of his hand.
"Hey, give those back!"
BOOM! The zombies are dead.
"Hey what'd you do that for?"
"Joey let's just go home now."
Carly stands and puts out her hand to help Joey up.
"Nah."

Warm Up
The smoke hovers above the volcano,
like a large cloud sucking it in.
Lost in the white blanket,
it stands high above the world
The trees cover its foundation.
The sunset reflecting its glow onto the scene.
Surrounded by leaves and branches,
but alone risen above the surface.

Head still down.
"Do I look slimmer to you?"
He moves his head down, this time into his hands.
"Are you listening to me?"
He lifts his head. The corners of his mouth go back into a smile. He nods.
"Anyway, I have to go pick up Sarah from soccer. I'll pick up dinner on the way home."
This time, a sigh of relief.

I've missed yet another episode of America's Next Top Model, one of the best shows to grace our television screens even after Tyra left, which is a whole other stressful situation (good thing she's still executive producer). I got distracted and forget to turn it on at 10 again and now I have to wait until tomorrow when they put it online. I have to wait at least 8 hours to find out which model was eliminated. What if it was my favorite one? I'm not even gonna know until tomorrow. What if the models get into another fight or Courtney falls down the stairs again? What am I supposed to do until they upload it to their website? Go to sleep? Knowing that something exciting probably happened and I missed it? I can't even go online. What if someone else watched it, posts it on social media, and ruins it for me? Next week I should really check the time so I don't miss it again. In fact next week I will check the time to ensure that something like this never happens again.
